If you are looking for HOPE and HELP to learn, heal, and grow, you have come to the right place! The therapeutic relationship we develop together is key to facilitating change. I draw from my training, expertise, life experiences, and faith in our work together. My counseling style is warm, compassionate, empowering, and goal-directed. My desire in therapy is to assist you in living a healthier, more balanced, meaningful, and joy-filled life. The goals we establish and work on together will enable you to grow a life you love, and deepen your relationships…one step at a time!
I am happily married to my soul mate and best friend, Randy, and over the last 20 years we have been engaged in the adventure of parenting and launching three adult children raised in a blended stepfamily, who now have families of their own. Over the course of my life, I have experienced the pain of divorce, the strain of single parenting, and the challenges and rewards of being a mom/stepmom. All of these have been humbling, growth-provoking, and wisdom-producing experiences for me.
I am also the daughter of a Christian minister, for whom pastoral counseling was a frequent activity. I am well familiar with the joys and struggles of ministry, having been involved in leadership in women's ministry 25+ years. Randy and I are actively involved in our church as an elder couple and small group leaders, as well as supporting various community and international humanitarian organizations and ministries.
Engaging in therapy can be a scary and painful process at times. Because I have participated in counseling over the years and am dedicated to my own growth as a person, I understand the anxiety involved in examining one's own history, hurts, and struggles. But I am passionate about this journey called "life" and the opportunity we all have to courageously make changes that make significant differences in the quality of our lives and those around us. I love being able to make a difference, and I am committed to assisting you to do the same.
